The Generator was originally a card game created by Dr Simon McCormick to help doctors think about their thinking and identify their biases.
This is a digital homage to the paper version. Itβs best played in small groups, with at least one senior-ish person around.

Play solo or get a small group together, then run through these steps:
- Generate a random patient
- Come up with some differential diagnoses
- Decide on your investigations and initial management
- Stop and examine why you have chosen your lead differential
- What cues are you using?
- What assumptions are you making?
- What information are you favouring (or ignoring)?
- How are your past experiences influencing you?
- How will you know if the plan is working?
- What canβt you miss here?
- Change one or two of the variables (π button).
- Does it change the diagnosis?
- Would you investigate or manage them differently?
